Student file submissions can be exported from Moodle and marked in Notability on your iPad. Once marked, these files can be re-uploaded to Moodle as feedback for students.
Downloading Student Submissions
- Click View all submissions
- Un-check the box labeled Download submissions in folders
- Click Download all submissions
- The submissions will appear in a zip file
- Click Save to Files
- Open the Files app and locate the zip file from Moodle
- Tap on the zip file
- This will create a folder containing the files you want to mark up
ℹ️ Be sure to hold on the + New button. This will allow you to select files to add to your notes.
Marking Submissions in Notability
- Open Notability
- Slick on the + symbol next to Subjects
- Add a new subject for the assignment you are grading
- Tap and hold + New > Import > Files
- Tap the folder containing student submissions
- Select the submissions you would like to mark in Notability
- Once you select one file, you can tap Select All in the bottom left corner to quickly add every file
- Import each document to separate notes (this is the default)
- Select the subject you created for this assignment
- Mark up each submission
Uploading Marked Files to Moodle
- Save your notes to Files on your iPad
- Tap the menu button
- Tap Select Notes
- Tap Select all at the bottom of the screen, or select individual submissions
- Tap share icon at the bottom
- Tap Share > Save to files
- Create a zip containing the notes
- Open Files
- Select marked up submissions
- Tap More > Compress
- Upload zip to Moodle as feedback
- Navigate back to the assignment on Moodle
- Select View all submissions
- From the Grading action drop-down menu, select upload multiple feedback files in a zip
- Tap Choose a file > choose file > choose file
- Select the zip folder downloaded from Notability
- Click Upload this file > Import feedback files > confirm > continue
- Students will now be able to view your feedback for the assignment on Moodle
