How to Record your Voicemail Greeting
- Press *97 on the Zulu Keypad
- Enter your voicemail password (initially this is your phone extension). The system will make you change your password from your phone extension for security reasons. Follow the prompts if it is asking you to change your password. If you have forgot your password submit a Telecom Issue ticket to request a password reset.
- Press 0 (zero) to go to Mailbox Options
- Listen to the prompts. When you are initially setting up your voicemail greetings you will want to Record your NAME and your UNAVAILABLE MESSAGE (this is the normal everyday greeting heard by those leaving a message). The TEMPORARY GREETING should ONLY be recorded when you are going to be out of the office or on vacation. When you record and accept the unavailable greeting it will override your unavailable message.
- Press 1 to record your Unavailable message - the main message that plays if the phone rings and you don't answer, or if you are on another call
- Press 2 to record your Busy message - the message that plays when you forward calls to voicemail using Do Not Disturb
- Press 3 to record your Name
- Press 4 to record your Temporary greeting- this message should be used if you plan to be out of the office or on vacation.
Once you record a temporary message, it will automatically be the default greeting for your voicemail.
- Press 5 to change your password
- After recording a prompt Press * to return to the main menu
Deactivating a Temporary Greeting
- Press *97 on the Zulu Keypad
- Enter your voicemail password
- Press 0 (zero) to access the voicemail settings
- Press 4 to go to the temporary greeting
- Press 2 to erase your temporary greeting.
** If you have forgot your password submit a Telecom Issue ticket to request a password reset.
Accessing Your Voicemail Messages
All voicemail messages left for you are received via your email, and are not being stored on the phonee.
Email Sample of your Voicemail Message
The subject line will read “New voicemail on your Carleton number” and there will be a sound file (.wav format) attached to the message. The email body will contain the name of the caller (if available), the phone number they called from, the length of the message, and the date and time when it was left.
Click on the .wav file to listen to the message.
