Overview
This article is for instructors who create or edit videos on their iPad and then want to make those videos available to students via Moodle. Many Carleton professors use the app called Explain Everything to create their whiteboard-style lectures and then export them to video.
Uploading Video to Moodle
- First export this video to your Photos app on your iPad.
- Open Safari (or another web browser) on your iPad
- Navigate to the place in Moodle where you would like to share your video
- In Moodle, where you would typically drag and drop a file, you will want to open the File Picker window. This is indicated with a button in the upper left of the file upload area.
- Once the File Picker is open, click on the Upload a File option in the File Picker window
- Tap the Choose File > from Photos app
- Select the video from your Photos app, then click the blue Upload this file button in Moodle.
- Don't forget to save your file in Moodle!
Tip: If you would like to get viewing statistics on your video (who, how often and how much has watched this video), you will need to post the video in Panopto. Panopto videos can also be incorporated into your Moodle page! Check out our
Panopto documentation for more information!
