Moodle: Hypothesis.is Assignments

Overview

Use Hypothes.is Assignments in Moodle for students’ social annotations and interactions with a reading or other source material. This article includes key options and configurations.

Creating a Hypothes.is Assignment in Moodle

  1. Enable Edit mode in the top right corner of the course page
  2. Click plus icon (+) in between 2 activities OR click the Add an activity or resource button in the desired section of the page
  3. From the icons that appear, select Hypothes.is  
    1. For easier access in the future, star this item
  4. Title your assignment in the Activity name text box
  5. Click Select content
  6. Upload the webpage, article, video, or PDF of your choice
  7. To receive grades from Hypothesis.is:
    1. Under Privacy, check Accept grades from the tool
    2. Under Grades, set Type to Point
  8. Click the Save and return to course button
