Duo: Streamlining Authentication

Remember Me For 30 Days

In order for Duo to remember you for 30 days, after authenticating select the option "Yes, this is my device". This way, the device you are using will no longer prompt you for a Duo authentication for the next thirty days.

A Duo screen that says "Is this your device?". Select the big box that says "Yes, this is my device"

Issues with Remember Me for 30 Days

  • Duo requires cookies for this function. Here are instructions for enabling cookies in the most common browsers.
  • On iOS devices, the only browser that can capture the correct kind of cookie for this function is Safari. Any other browser on an iOS device will not be able to remember you for 30 days.
  • If you clear your browser's cookies and cache during this period, this will reset the token that Duo uses to track your device and thus the browser will no longer automatically remember your second authentication.  Simply select the box again and you should be good for the next 30 days or until you next clear cookies and cache.

Default Authentication Method

  • The default the first time you sign in with Duo will be the Verified Push method
  • If you want to sign in using a different authentication method, select Other options, then the method you would like to use
  • Next time you sign in with the same device and browser, it will automatically authenticate with the method you chose
