ArcGIS Online or Story Maps Troubleshooting

Unable to View Story Maps or Other ArcGIS Online Apps

While using St. Olaf ArcGIS Story Maps, or any ArcGIS Online apps - you may receive the following:

  • Internal Server Error
  • Broken web page link
  • Unable to log into the site

In most cases, these issues will occur when using the Safari web browser with ArcGIS Online. Using Google Chrome to view or log into ArcGIS Online should fix any access issues.

Another cause for this issue - if cookie storage is disabled on the web browser, it is very possible that the application will not function. Check the Internet browser settings to make sure that cookies can be saved.

I forgot my password - can it be reset?

Since ArcGIS Online is connected to St. Olaf Accounts, log into your account using your St. Olaf email and password.

If you do not remember your St. Olaf password, see this additional information at Accounts and Passwords for resetting your St. Olaf password. We do not have the ability to reset passwords in ArcGIS Online.

Still Unable to Access/View ArcGIS Apps

If you do not have an ArcGIS Online account, this could also prevent any access to the site and any projects that are set to "organization only" permissions. To request an account, see Request an ArcGIS Online Account.

If there are still issues with accessing ArcGIS Online, contact the IT Helpdesk.
