Adobe Reader is a free tool that comes standard on all Carleton computers. If you need to be able to edit PDFs, though, you'll need a full Adobe Acrobat license (sometimes called Acrobat Pro).
NOTE: You do not need a separate license for Acrobat Pro if you already have a license for the full Creative Cloud suite of applications. Acrobat is included in that license.
Activate a License for Adobe Acrobat Pro
Faculty and Staff at Carleton can activate a license for Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- If this is your first time using a Carleton license for an Adobe Product, please submit a Software Request ticket (link opens in a new tab) so that we can create an Adobe ID for you.
- Once you have a Carleton Adobe ID, go to the following link: Faculty and Staff Adobe Acrobat Pro Activation (link opens in a new tab)
- If prompted, enter your full Carleton email address
- If prompted, select the Company or School or the CARLETON COLLEGE account option (not the Personal option)
- Sign in with your regular Carleton username and password
- Adobe will automatically activate your license for Acrobat Pro.
Installing Acrobat Pro
After your license is activated, you can download and install Adobe Acrobat Pro from within the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application. Here are instructions on installing Adobe applications (link opens in a new tab).
