Microsoft Windows: Troubleshooting Notifications Requiring that You Activate Windows

  1. Make sure that you are connected to the campus' wired Ethenet network of you have the VPN connected
  2. Go to K1000.carleton.edu (link opens in a new window)
  3. Click on Downloads
  4. Search for KMS
  5. Click on Windows: KMS Activation
  6. Make sure that your computer is listed in the "Device to install software to" field
  7. Click Install
  8. The update will take place once the script has finished installing and running (this can take several minutes)
