Phones - Zulu software installation and logging in

Zulu is what is called a “softphone.” This means that it functions as a phone, but operates on your computer without a physical or “hard” handset.

How to Install Zulu on a St. Olaf Mac computer

You must be on campus, connect via ethernet or eduroam, to install the Zulu software. If you are off-campus, either connect to the VPN (and then follow steps 1-3) or download the software using the link found in the Personal Computer section below. 

  1. In the upper right corner of your Mac, select the spotlight icon.
  2. Search for Self Service.
  3. From the list of applications, find Zulu Softphone and select Install. 

How to Install Zulu on a St. Olaf Windows computer

You must be on campus, connect via ethernet or eduroam, to install the Zulu software. If you are off-campus, either connect to the VPN (and then follow steps 1-3) or download the software using the link found in the Personal Computer section below. 

  1. In lower left corner, click on the Windows icon.
  2. Search for Software Center.
  3. From the list of applications, find Zulu Softphone and select Install. 

How to Install Zulu on a Personal Computer

Download the Zulu software at https://zulu-updater.sangoma.com/releases/stable

How to Login to Zulu:

Open the Zulu software and enter the following information: 

  • User: enter <username>@vox.stolaf.edu replacing <username> with your St. Olaf username.
  • Password: Enter your St. Olaf password.
  • Port: do not change the Port number.
  • Select Remember me if you are the sole user of the device. This will allow you to stay logged in.
