Zulu is what is called a “softphone.” This means that it functions as a phone, but operates on your computer without a physical or “hard” handset.
How to Install Zulu on a St. Olaf Mac computer
You must be on campus, connect via ethernet or eduroam, to install the Zulu software. If you are off-campus, either connect to the VPN (and then follow steps 1-3) or download the software using the link found in the Personal Computer section below.
- In the upper right corner of your Mac, select the spotlight icon.
- Search for Self Service.
- From the list of applications, find Zulu Softphone and select Install.
How to Install Zulu on a St. Olaf Windows computer

- In lower left corner, click on the Windows icon.
- Search for Software Center.
- From the list of applications, find Zulu Softphone and select Install.
How to Install Zulu on a Personal Computer
Download the Zulu software at https://zulu-updater.sangoma.com/releases/stable
How to Login to Zulu:
Open the Zulu software and enter the following information:
- User: enter <username>@vox.stolaf.edu replacing <username> with your St. Olaf username.
- Password: Enter your St. Olaf password.
- Port: do not change the Port number.
- Select Remember me if you are the sole user of the device. This will allow you to stay logged in.
Once you've entered the user and password, select Login.
