While setting up a Moodle course - dates may still appear on the sections after updating the title.
To remove the dates, this has to be turned off in the settings per section. This example shows the Topics course format, but the same process can be used for any of the course formats.
Turn Off Section Dates
To remove the dates from the section titles, turn Edit mode on for the course page.
Scroll to the section to update, and click on the Configuration Wheel.
When the settings for the section open, look in the General section at the top. There is a check box for Do no show date below the Summary box.
Check the box to remove the date.
Click on Save Changes.
The page will update and remove the date from the section title.
