Keychain Access - Update or Reset (Mac OS)

Keychain Access is a macOS app that stores your passwords and account information and reduces the number of passwords you have to remember and manage. Your Keychain Access passwords do not automatically update when you change your St. Olaf password.

Update Keychain Access

  1. Open Finder by clicking anywhere on your desktop OR selecting Finder in your dock:


     
  2. From the Finder menu bar at the top, select Go and then select Utilities:


     
  3. Find Keychain Access in the list of utilities, and double-click to open:


     
  4. Continue following the instructions below, depending on your device
     

For Student / Personal Computers:

  1. Select Passwords under the Category section on the left side:


     
  2. In the main window, locate stoprint-personal or stoprint-color-personal and right-click (or Control-Click) and select Delete 
     
  3. The next time you print, you will be prompted to enter your St. Olaf Password (optional to save in your Keychain).
    Please remember when printing, your username is without the @stolaf.edu.
     
  4. If the above doesn’t work, download and run the KeychainNuke.zip file (see Attachments on the right or below, depending on your browser).
    **Please note - this will remove ALL your saved passwords from Keychain Access. If you need help, please contact Helpdesk at 507-786-3830 or fill out this form

 

For St. Olaf Computers:

  1. From the Keychain Access menu, select Preferences:


     
  2. Select Reset My Default Keychain:

 

lf the above doesn’t work....

Option 1: From your St. Olaf computer, open Self Service on your computer and run [IT] Remove Keychains:

Option 2: Download and run the KeychainNuke.zip file (see Attachments on the right or below, depending on your browser).
