Community Member Cards

While the St. Olaf libraries are open for anyone to visit and browse materials, items can only be checked out if you have a valid St. Olaf ID card (issued to students, faculty, and staff) OR have an active Bridge card, also called a community member card. This card is issued by either St. Olaf or Carleton libraries, and holders can check out materials at both colleges with it. You can also request an account here

At St. Olaf only the Rolvaag library issues Bridge cards, though they can be used to check out materials at both the Rolvaag library or the Halverson Music Library.

Community members are not able to request items to be put on the hold shelf for them, nor are they able to request items from other libraries through our Resource Sharing program. If you need something that neither St. Olaf, Carleton, or the Northfield Public Library owns, you can request an item through the Northfield Public Library ILL program

There are NO computers on campus that are available for community members to use. If you would like assistance looking up an item's location, the circulation desk workers are available to assist you.

Online Resources
Bridge card holders can access online library resources ONLY if they are connected to the campus guest wifi. No online resources are available while off campus.

To access online resources while on campus you will need to be logged into your online account.

Online Account
Bridge card holders have access to an online account, where they can view and renew loans, and access online resources while connected to the campus wifi.  You can read more information on logging into your online account and renewing loans here
