Zoom: Workaround for "Unable to Connect to Network"- Joining from Your Browser

A few people are unable to get Zoom to connect to the network even though other things on their computers (web browsers, Zulu softphones, etc) are all happily connected. Here are some things to try:

  1. If you are connected to the VPN, disconnect. If you are disconnected, connect. Sometimes this resets the connections Zoom is looking for.
  2. Uninstall and reinstall Zoom
  3. Contact the ITS Helpdesk. It's possible that we will have to re-image your computer if it is a college-owned computer.

If you cannot connect to a meeting or resolve the connection errors prior to your next meeting, you can use the following workaround:

  1. Put the URL for the Zoom meeting into a web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, etc)
  2. When your browser asks if you want to Open zoom.us, click Cancel
  3. Down below the "launch meeting" button, click on the link that says Join from Your Browser
