Requesting Items Through Resource Sharing

When a book, article, or other resource is not owned by St. Olaf or Carleton Libraries, you may request it through Resource Sharing. Your request will be sent to other libraries to be fulfilled. To submit a request:

  1. Search for the item you are looking for in Catalyst from stolaf.edu/library
  2. Click the expand your search link above the search results to look beyond the St. Olaf and Carleton collection

  3. Locate the item you want and click into the item’s record.
  4. If you are not signed into your library account you will have to do that before requesting an item by selecting the Sign in link in the item's record

Sign In Link

5. Select if you would like to get either a chapter or a small section of the item sent to you digitally, or if you want the entire item it will have to be sent physically

Please note that we do not support requests for traditional textbooks, as we cannot guarantee the lending library will loan the item out for the entire semester.

If you expand your search and still can’t find the item, use the “Still didn’t find what you need? Click here to send a request” link above the search results. This will take you to a blank Catalyst Resource Sharing form that you can use to fill in your citation and submit the request.
