Most library materials can be renewed online through your library account, but items can also be renewed by submitting a ticket to the library, or bringing in the item to the circulation desk. To renew library equipment, please view the Renewing Equipment article. This article contains:

- Go to stolaf.edu/library
- Select Login from the sidebar menu on the right
- Select Library Account (even if you are currently off-campus) from the options presented
- On the next page select Enter Your St. Olaf Username/Password
- If you are currently logged in with your St. Olaf email account, it will automatically open your library account
- If you are not currently logged into your browser with your St. Olaf email account, enter your St. Olaf email credentials when prompted
- Select your name in the upper right corner
- Select My Loans from the dropdown menu
- To renew an item you can do either of the following:
- To renew one at a time, click the Renew button for that item
- To renew multiple items at once select the checkboxes for all item you wish to renew, then click Renew Selected at the top
- To renew all items you currently have checked out, select the checkbox at the top that lists how many items you have checked out, then click Renew All at the top

- Short-term loan items, such as course reserves or equipment such as laptop chargers or DVD players are not renewable
- Renewals of Resource Sharing items are dependent on approval from the lending library. Renewing a Resource Sharing item online just sends a renewal request to the lending library, but it is not guaranteed. You will receive an email letting you know if your request has been approved, and its new due date if it was, or if it was denied, meaning it is due back by the original due date.
- If another patron has recalled an item you currently have checked out, you are unable to renew it.
