Google Meet: Re-Using the Same Meet URL/Meeting Link

Re-using the Same Meet URL/Meeting Link:

Google Meet allows users to re-use the same meeting link for multiple meetings.  Below are some strategies for making that happen.

  1. Create a Google Calendar Event that includes Google Meet Video Conferencing.
  2. Set Calendar Event as Recurring.

*Notes:  The meet URL remains consistent for every occurrence unless it's manually changed. The meet link does not expire with time, BUT if no one uses the link "for an extended period of time," Google can eventually deactivate it.  It is unclear what constitutes "an extended period of time."

  1. Launch Google Meet through your Calendar invite, Gmail integration, or another method, and click the copy conference info icon.
  2. Share that URL via email, a calendar invite, or a password protected website (such as Moodle Course Pages).

*ITS recommends that users do not share meeting URLs on publicly available websites or publications.
