Instructions for reserving equipment can be found below, as well as a list of common errors that prevent reservations from being submitted.

Common Reservation Errors
- Go to stolaf.webcheckout.net/sso/patron
- Click on New in the upper right corner or New Reservation on the left pane:

3. In the pop-up select Rolvaag Library Equipment, then click OK
4. Set the date and time that you want to pick up the equipment and return it, and confirm your selection by clicking the green checkmarks next to them.
Note: Laptops and iPads need to be reserved at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance and can be reserved for up to a semester if there are no scheduling conflicts.
All other equipment must be reserved at least three (3) hours in advance, and has a maximum loan period of three (3) days, with the ability to renew the loan for an additional three (3) days if the equipment is not reserved by another patron.

5. Check the checkbox agreeing to the terms and conditions, then confirm by clicking the green checkbox next to it

6. To add items to your reservation, click on either of the Browse Catalog buttons in the Contents section

7. Find the item type you want to add (if you know the name of it you can use the search function at the top) to your cart and click into the item record. More information about the loan terms, user guides, and details about the item can be found here
8. Add the item to your cart by doing one of the following:
- Select the green plus icon at the top (this will add any available item into your cart) OR
- Select a specific item you want by clicking the green cart icon by the item
To see when items are available, select the Timeline button:

9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 to add additional items to your reservation.
10. Click Return to Reservation at the bottom or the X in the upper right corner to exit the selection screen.
11. Click the Submit Reservation button.
If there is a Reservation has errors notification you have to fix something before submitting the reservation
- Click Click Here For More Info… to get information on how you can resolve any issues
- Once your issue is resolved the message will say Looks Good! and the Submit Reservation button will appear
- You will receive an email confirmation when the reservation is successfully saved. If you are sure you saved your reservation but did not receive an email check your spam folder. If you did not receive any email your reservation did not save.

Allocation In Past: The start time is set in the past. Adjust the start time to after the current time, and ensure there is lead time built in.
Checkout Center Closed At Return Time: The Equipment Desk isn’t open at the return time. The equipment desk is open 9am-5pm on weekdays during the academic year, and during the summer it is open during standard library hours. Select a time that falls within the equipment desk schedule.
Min Reservation Lead Time: The start time is too soon per the items policy (24 hours for laptops and iPads, 3 hours for all other equipment). Adjust the start time to be after either 24 or 3 hours from now.
Reservation Advance Limit: The reservation start date is too far in the future. Equipment must be reserved within 30 days of the day you make the reservation. Either set the reservation to begin sooner, or make the reservation for that date later.
Resource Type Limit Exceeded: There are too many items of a single type. Mainly only seen when trying to reserve both a laptop and iPad, as students are not allowed to have both a laptop and iPad. Remove one of the items from your reservation.
Resource Type Max Checkout: The reservation either exceeds the total days allowed for that resource. Change the due date to be within the semester for laptops and iPads, or within 3 days for all other equipment.
selfServiceReservationLimitExceeded: The reservation is too long. For laptops and iPads the reservation must end before 5pm on the last day of finals. For all other equipment the reservation must end within 3 days from when the reservation starts.
