Introduction
The Weekly Course Format in Moodle is the default for all new course pages. It is configured for our 10-week term and the section titles are automatically calculated from the Course Start Date setting.
Configuring the Weekly Course Format
-
Click the Settings tab at the top of the course page.
-
Scroll to and expand the Course Format section.
-
Open the drop-down menu next to Format, and select Weekly format.
-
You have the option to either show all sections on one page or show only one section per page.
-
If “show one section per page” is chosen, the course home page at first will show links to the sections and any text in the section summary. Once you have selected a section by clicking on its name, you will only see that section. You can move to the next or the previous section by respectively clicking the ▶︎ or ◀︎ icon followed by the section name. Pictured below is a section from a course where the “show one section per page” option is chosen.
-
If “show all sections on one page,” is selected, then the main page will display all the section titles. Click a section name to extend it. Below is an image of a course page where the “Show all section on one page is chosen.” The “Tests” section is extended.
-
Select one of the Save and display at the bottom of the page.
