Moodle Dashboard

Default Dashboard

Occasionally, you may see some updates at the top of the dashboard. Those updates are used for Carleton Moodle-wide announcements. Otherwise, you can customize what is displayed in your Dashboard.

Configuring your Dashboard

The dashboard shows various panels of information called blocks. You can customize the dashboard by adding, moving, and deleting blocks:

  • Adding blocks:
    1. Turn on Edit mode in the top right corner
    2. Click Add block on the top of the screen and choose a block.
  • Moving blocks: Click and drag the arrows icon in the top right corner of the block
  • Configuring blocks:
    1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the block
    2. Select Configure … block
  • Deleting blocks:
    1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the block
    2. Select Delete … block

The dashboard also has a collapsible block drawer accessible by clicking the arrow in the top right corner of the screen. Blocks can be placed here as well through Configure… block.

  • Course overview: Lists your enrolled courses with the option to search and filter
  • Recently accessed courses
  • Upcoming events: Shows assignments with upcoming due dates and events in the next couple weeks
  • Calendar: Shows a monthly calendar with all assignments and events automatically posted
