To minimize disruption, users may wish to save their work before beginning the installation process.
Starting June 23rd, ITS will make updates to the GlobalProtect VPN application available for installation as soon as they are released. When an update is available, you will see a pop-up notification asking for permission to download the new version. Depending on your current version, the pop-up may look like one of these:
- If you select Yes, the new version of the GlobalProtect client will download in the background, allowing them to continue working without interruption.
- If you select No, the update prompt will appear the next time they open the GlobalProtect application.
Once the download is complete, users will receive a second notification prompting them to install the update:
When you install the update, your current VPN connection will be disconnected temporarily while the new version is installed. After installation is complete, reconnect and sign in to GlobalProtect again.
