Grandstream Physical Phone: Update Voicemail Greetings and Temporary Greeting

How to change your voicemail message

  1. If you are near your phone - press the Message button which has the envelope on it (middle button above the number keypad). No voicemail password is required for this option.
    If you are away from your phone - Dial your phone number from a cell phone or home phone. When you begin to hear your voicemail message press *
  2. Enter your voicemail password (forgot your password?). If you have never changed your voicemail password (from your 4 digit extension), you now have to changed your password. The system will not allow you to have your extension as your password. Follow the prompts to change your password.
  3. Press 0 (zero) to access the voicemail settings
  4. Listen to the prompts, which will help you record a new message or delete an existing message. Unavailable message is the main message to change when setting up your phone. 
    1. Unavailable message - the message that plays if the phone rings and you don't answer, or if you are on another call
    2. Busy message - the message that plays when you forward calls to voicemail using Do Not Disturb (This is different from the Temporary Message which is used for vacation type absences explained in more detail in the related article on updating voicemail greetings)
    3. Your name - this plays for all who call you
    4. Temporary message - this message should only be recorded if you plan to be out of the office or on vacation. Once you record a temporary message, it will automatically be the default greeting for your voicemail. To deactivate or turn off your temporary message - follow steps 1-3 above, choose 4 like you are going to record a temporary greeting then it will give you an option to delete the current temporary message, or see below.
  5. After recording a prompt press * to return to the main menu

Deactivating a Temporary Greeting

  1. If you are near your phone - press the Message button which has the envelope on it (middle button above the number keypad). No voicemail password is required for this option.
    If you are away from your phone - Dial your phone number from a cell phone or home phone. When you begin to hear your voicemail message press *
  2. Enter your voicemail password 
  3. Press 0 (zero) to access the voicemail settings
  4. Press 4 to go to the temporary greeting options - Press 2 to remove your temporary greeting.
