In nearly every case, if there's an Override indicator, (a yes/no selection next to a rule-generated field) this means that when the Override is set to Yes, you can manually adjust the rule-generated content. In the future, the automated processes will skip that overridden field, so data must be manually managed until/unless that override indicator is set to No.
There is one exception to this pattern! The Institutional Suffix override option lets you type a manual institutional suffix into a dedicated text box. This allows easier comparison of rule-generated data and manually generated data.
Overridden fields should be reviewed regularly to ensure that they remain accurate after they stop being system-generated.
