Library materials such as books, DVDs, ebooks, and streaming films can be requested for course reserves through Catalyst or by filling out the Reserves Request Form. We also accept personal and departmental copies of materials that are dropped off at the circulation desk.
Catalyst
- Go to https://wp.stolaf.edu/lits to search Catalyst
- Once you find the desired item, click on it to open the full record
- Click Go to link next to "Place on Course Reserve for your students" under the Requests section (you will need to be signed into your St. Olaf account to see this option)

- Fill out the fields for course details and reserve policy details
- Click Submit
Reserves Request Form
- Go to the Reserves Request form page
- Click Request Service

- Fill out the fields
- Click Submit
Personal and Departmental Copies
- Go to the Reserves Request form page
- Click Request Service

- Fill out the fields
- Click Submit (if you are dropping off multiple copies of the same item, you do not need to fill this form out multiple times)
- Drop off the item(s) at the circulation desk during open hours
Note: Personal copies, departmental copies, and SGA-purchased textbooks are kept out of circulation when not actively being used for reserves. If you'd like to reuse a personal copy or textbook from a previous term, or for inquiries relating to personal copies and textbooks, please contact reserves@stolaf.edu. If you'd like to have your personal copy back after end-of-semester, let us know and we can coordinate its return.
