Most books at both St. Olaf and Carleton can be requested online and placed on the hold shelf for your convenience. If you are requesting an item not owned by either college, please refer to this article about requesting items through Resource Sharing.
To request an item that is owned by St. Olaf or Carleton:
- Go to stolaf.edu/library
- Search for the item you want
- Click on the specific item you want to request. If you are not signed into your library account you will have to do that before requesting an item by selecting the Sign in link in the items record

4. Select Request for Library Pickup
5. Select which library you want to pick it up at as the Pickup Location
6. Click SEND REQUEST
7. You will receive an email when the item is available for you to pick up from the hold shelf. Note that items requested from the same library that is set as the pickup location are typically available within 24 hours, but items that have to travel to another location are typically available within one business day.
