Evernote Alternatives

ITS offers Evernote licenses to faculty and staff upon request (see our guide on Evernote). Some people ask us about alternatives to Evernote, and about migrating Evernote content to other tools. 

Some Alternatives

Choosing the right tool for you is an entirely personal decision, and searching Google for "Evernote Alternatives" is a very good strategy. The tools listed below are options that have come to our attention and that have export/import options from Evernote:

• Notion
  • Evernote to Notion import instructions
  • no Carleton licensing
• Obsidian
  • Evernote to Obsidian import instructions
  • no Carleton licensing
• OneNote
  • Import options are limited and not 100% effective, but here are some Windows Only Evernote to OneNote import instructions and a Reddit post on a Mac and Windows option for import
  • Free license available, and pro options comes with your Carleton-provided Microsoft license (see our guide on Microsoft Office 365)
