Voicemail

Summary

How to record or delete your voicemail greeting, leave a voicemail or transfer a call directly to voicemail.

Body

Most phone extensions will go to voicemail if a call is not answered after 15-20 seconds. When callers leave you a voicemail message, you will receive that message via email.

The email message will contain the audio recording (in mp3 format) and, if the message is less than one minute long, a transcript of the message. The transcription only works for messages left in English. You may listen to this mp3 recording on your cell phone by tapping on it or in Gmail by clicking on it.

Leaving a Voicemail Message

To leave a voicemail message for someone, you can either:

  • Dial their extension and wait for the voicemail system to answer. When done, hang up.
  • To leave someone a message without ringing their phone, dial *XXXX where “XXXX” is their extension. The * will send it directly to their voicemail without ringing their phone.

Transferring a Call Directly to Voicemail

  1. While on a call with someone, press the transfer button (on the desktop phone) or transfer button under the three-dot menu (in Zulu softphone):
