Mathematica is a computational software program used in math and science.
Installation Types
There are two options to choose from when installing Mathematica:
A network installation uses a license server on the St. Olaf network to authorize use of Mathematica.
• Requires connection to the St. Olaf network, either on campus or via VPN.
• Available for all campus computers.
A standalone installation uses a registration process to obtain an activation key to authorize use of Mathematica.
• Suitable for computers that are not always connected to the St. Olaf network.
• Available for faculty and staff on their campus or personally-owned computers.
• Available for students to install on their personally-owned computers.
Please choose one of the installation methods below.
Network Installation (campus computer)
- From your St. Olaf computer, open the application Self Service (MacOS) or Software Center (Windows)
- Find Mathematica in the list and select Install.
Standalone Installation
- In a web browser, go to the Mathematica Activation Key Request Form.
- Sign in to your Wolfram account or create a new account with your St. Olaf email address.
- Fill out the Activation Key Request Form:
- Product: Mathematica for Sites (Single Machine)
- Version: Chose the version that you require
- Download the software and install.
